Train Up a Child...

I am praising God that Candi gave her heart to Jesus, I am so thankful that at a young age her heart is already turning to God. My prayer is that I will be a Godly mother and that my children always see Jesus in me.

Funeral in Lima, OH

II Samuel 3:38
And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day.

Yesterday we traveled to Lima, OH to say good-bye to a dear family friend. He was a good man, and I felt honored to have known him. He had some very adventurous stories, and we always loved to listen. He was known for his personal soul winning and touched many lives for Christ. He attended the Waynesfield Bible Methodist Church where Bro. Ernest Plemmons is the Pastor, he officiated the service and did a wonderful job. The service was beautiful.

After the service we joined the family for lunch, it was so nice to catch up with Tonetta and Marlinda again. Hopefully the next time we get together it will not be for a funeral :)

Happy Birthday To a Great Man...My Second Father

Today we celebrate the life of Steve Heskett Sr. He is one of the godliest men I know. He is strong in what he believes. He is kind and compassionate, a giver and never a taker. He is a gentle giant. I am proud to be part of his family. Happy Birthday Papa Bear. We love you!

Sunday we had to be in Salem, OH for the Allegheny Wesleyan College Baccalaureate. So from there we went to my mom's. On Monday Candi and I went to Canton to pick up Lauren so they could spend the day together. We then met up with Scott, Susie, Kaitlyn and Jonathon at Chuck E. Cheese. Candi and Lauren's birthdays are so close that we had a little birthday celebration there for them.

Mother's Day Weekend

Steve talking to Morganne on the platform...

Pastor Hesuse singing a special song that he wrote...
Lewis Wheeler translating Steve's sermon into Spanish

The group of Mothers that attended the morning service....
The 2 Spanish chefs...They did an awesome job on the food...DELICIOUS!

Elena Wheeler eating her corn....YUM!

Mother's Day weekend was spent in Logansport, IN with Lewis and Joanna Wheeler. On Saturday night Steve spoke in a youth rally, and the Barnard children sang. It was a wonderful service.
On Sunday after the service we enjoyed a real Spanish meal, it was very good! The church there is a Spanish mission and so on Sunday Elizabeth Wheeler helped keep me informed on what was being said, it was a very interesting service. We enjoyed so much being with the Wheeler family. They have become dear friends.

An Evening with Sis. Ada Hobbs

I am so thankful for the influence of Godly people in the lives of my children. I love her to death, and am so thankful that my children are receiving her influence too.
I remember as a teenager when I was trying to play around with the world how she could make me squirm...and actually pray she wouldn't ask me where I was spiritually. Wow, what a lady with insight and wisdom...She definitely has power with the Almighty...May I ever strive to pattern my life after her.
