Crystal Park Choir

My mom sang a solo part in the choir at the Crystal Park Program on Sunday evening, she did a wonderful job, her microphone didn't work very well, but my camera picked it up good. She is a beautiful singer. We usually only heard her singing with dad, but she has a great solo voice.

Crystal Park Christmas Programs

My niece, Kaitlyn Heskett
My cousin Brian's little girl, Alana Maley

My cousin Mike's little girl, Grace Maley

My cousin Mike's little boy, Cole Maley

Kaitlyn singing with her cousin Drew, it was beautiful! The little blond is Abby White's little girl Nila. She is darling!

All the little kids singing at the end of the program, My niece Lauren Heskett is the little girl in the front row with the red and black dress. It was a really nice program. The children all did a good job, their program was in the morning and the adult program was in the evening, it was a nice day.

My Van is Back on the Road

My Dodge Caravan has been repaired, I am so thankful that it wasn't anything real major...just a starter. We were told at first that it was a timing belt, which would have been much more costly and taken alot more time to repair. Thanks to Bro. Hunter for staying late after service last night and putting on a new starter. God is so good to us.

The Christmas Love Chapter

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime: but do not show love to my family, I'm just another cook.
If I work at a soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and give all that I have to charity; but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing. If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir's cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child. Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the spouse. Love is kind, though harried and tired. Love doesn't envy another's home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens. Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way. Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return; but rejoices in giving to those who can't.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust; But giving the gift of love will endure.

A Great Weekend

I now have 2 vehicles.... and they are both broke down ;) No kidding!!

So this weekend we rented a car, it was a 2008 Pontiac G6, it was wonderful!! We went to Marietta on Saturday and to Coshocton to stay with our friends, Roger and Rachael McCreery. Their Christmas program was Sunday night, it was a wonderful presentation. They put alot of work into it and it was a true inspiration. Rachael and some of her church ladies wrote the Drama and it was superb! We had a really fun weekend, and now I am back home.

If we don't have a running vehicle by this weekend, it is back to the rental store, Yaayy!

Women Of Worth/December

Tonight was our first Women of Worth meeting since last May, we are a small group but are hoping that more ladies will become involved again. The meeting was held at the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church fellowship hall, it is a beautiful facility. The pizza and salad was provided and everyone brought desserts and drinks. Yum! Our theme was the candy cane, and I shared the Legend of the Candy Cane. We had fun with the Christmas Carol Trivia, and then all sang "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" which is one of my all time Favorite Christmas Hymns. Christmas is a fun time and we had fun tonight.

A Sad Good-bye

Today we said good-bye to a friend. Jim Connolly passed away in his sleep and his funeral was today. Steve had the service, and though I was nervous for him he did a good job. Jim's wife got saved when we were pastoring in Cambridge, and the family has become dear friends. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart, a true hero. the military ceremony was so touching. Please pray for Brenda, Jimmy, Heath and Hannah and their spouses and children during this holiday season.
